‘I am hungry for impact, not media attention’ – Akesse Brempong

In the competitive realm of the music industry, artists often rely on constant publicity and media exposure to maintain their relevance and propel their careers to stardom.

The thirst for success and recognition drives many to extreme lengths, seeking global acclaim with every song release.

Yet, amidst this fervor for visibility, gospel singer Akesse Brempong stands apart with his unconventional approach.

In an interview with Amelley Djosu on Joy Prime’s Celeb Biz, Brempong revealed his indifference towards a massive social media presence.

Rather than chasing after likes and followers, he opts to let his hard work and achievements speak for themselves, eschewing self-promotion for genuine talent and dedication.

Drawing inspiration from the teachings of Jesus, Brempong believes that genuine goodness and impactful actions naturally draw attention, resonating deeply with audiences beyond the confines of social media metrics.

“Jesus didn’t need media attention; He was media attention. When he enters a city, all he has to do is heal one leper. So, let your work speak for you,” he narrated.

In seeking to emulate the life of Jesus, the ‘Blessed’ hitmaker emphasized that his priority lies in the impact his music has on people’s lives.

He contends that his achievements naturally garner attention and recognition, obviating the need for self-promotion.

Addressing concerns about his reserved demeanor potentially impacting his visibility, Akesse Brempong responded by stating, “If you look at it the business way, it does; after all, you’re a musician, and people must see you do your thing. But if you look at it the ministry way, not at all.”

The singer recounted an inspiring anecdote in which a fan testified to experiencing healing after listening to one of his songs.

In light of such impactful moments, Akesse Brempong underscores his primary focus on the message conveyed through his music, rather than mere monetary gain.

However, he acknowledges the practical necessity of finances, particularly in ensuring his crew’s well-being and sustenance.
