Residents of Otuaplem and Kojo Ashong in the Amasaman Constituency are deeply troubled by the deteriorating condition of a bridge connecting their communities.
The bridge, currently in a state of disrepair, has sparked significant concern among locals due to fears of potential dangers.
The situation is exacerbated by the ongoing rainy season, which is causing the nearby Densu river to rise. There is a real fear that soon the bridge may become submerged, rendering it impassable and posing severe risks to commuters.

“I cross this bridge every day to get to school,” said a resident. “Lately, I’ve noticed some of the loose railings getting worse. I hope someone takes a look at it soon,” he added.
Residents have pointed out that there have been no recent repairs undertaken by local authorities despite the obvious deterioration of the bridge.

The increasingly precarious condition of the bridge has become a pressing concern for the community, prompting urgent appeals to local authorities to take immediate action. The residents fear that unless the bridge is promptly repaired, a tragic incident is inevitable.
