The Managing Director of the State Transport Company (STC), Nana Akomea, has expressed his regret regarding Alan Kyerematen’s departure from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He believes that if Kyerematen, whom he considers a stalwart of the party, had remained, he would have likely been selected as the running mate.
Mr Akomea emphasized that third parties face challenges in Ghana’s political landscape, asserting that Kyerematen’s stature within the NPP could have resolved the running mate issue had he stayed.
“He’s a stalwart in the political party. If he had stayed, this issue about running mate would have been settled,” he said.
In the upcoming 2024 elections, numerous Independent candidates and minor political parties are vying to challenge the existing political order.
Notably, Alan Kyerematen leads the Movement for Change, which has formed an alliance with Abu Sakara.
