The Ministry of National Security has refuted social media claims suggesting that Benlord Ababio, a suspect in the fatal shooting of a soldier at Kasoa Millennium City, is affiliated with the national security apparatus.
In a succinct statement dated May 1, 2024, the Ministry urged the public to ignore any assertions linking the suspect to their organization.
Currently, Ababio is in police custody, cooperating with investigations regarding the death of the late L/Cpl Danso Michael.
According to a military statement, the incident occurred on April 30, 2024, and is linked to a land dispute.

The Ministry of National Security has taken note of a news item in circulation on social media that a supposed staff of the Ministry of National Security, by name Benlord Ababio, in an incident that occurred on Tuesday 30th April, 2024 at Millennium City, Kasoa, shot and killed a soldier.
The Ministry wishes to put on record that the suspect, Benlord Ababio, who is currently in police custody, is not a staff of the Ministry of National Security.
The public is therefore, urged to disregard any news item that portrays the suspect as a staff of the Ministry of National Security.
The Ministry wishes to clarify that the aforementioned suspect, Benlord Ababio, currently held in police custody, is not employed by the Ministry of National Security.
Therefore, the public is advised to disregard any information portraying the suspect as a member of the Ministry of National Security.
