In his first statements after the acquittal, ACP Agordzo, speaking to Citi News, expressed his unwavering confidence in a positive outcome, despite uncertainties about the trial’s duration.

He remarked, “Our God doesn’t fail,” and revealed that he always knew how the trial would conclude, likening it to watching a movie replay with someone.

Responding to how he felt, ACP Agordzo said, “I have always been free within my heart. I have always been free because I knew how it was going to end. From the beginning, I knew how it was going to end today. I didn’t know when it was going to end, but I knew how it was going to end. It is like watching a movie replay with somebody.”

The six individuals sentenced to hanging, including three soldiers and a civilian employee of the Ghana Armed Forces, were found guilty of conspiracy to commit treason and treason.

The background of the case involves charges against Dr. Frederick Yao Mac-Palm, the CEO of Citadel Hospital (now deceased), and ACP Dr. Agordzo, along with eight others.

They were charged in April 2021 with conspiracy to high treason, abetment to high treason, and high treason. The charges against the accused varied, including conspiracy to commit high and high treason, with ACP Dr. Agordzo initially charged with abetment.
