Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has reportedly issued the New Patriotic party’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako also known as Chairman Wontumi with a solid notice, soliciting him to stay out of the Adansi Asorkwa Constituency primaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to Kennedy Agyapong, Chairman Wontumi is allegedly involved in vote buying, in efforts to have Member of Parliament Mr. Kwabena Tahir Hammond out of office.
Chairman Wontumi and Mr. K.T Hammond have reportedly been in a tussle for sometime now. This, reports suggest, is the reason Chairman Wontumi is bent on making the upcoming NPP primaries hectic for K.T Hammond.
K. T Hammond reportedly lashed out at Chairman Wontumi for supporting a new MP hopeful (Mr. Samuel Binfo) who apparently does not have “what is takes”.
Touching on the matter on his TV station NET 2, Kennedy Agyapong praised Mr. K. T Hammond for his development initiatives at Adanse Asokwa, indicating that K. T Hammond qualified to run for office unopposed because of his outstanding performance in office.
“I’m am simply coming back from Adanse Asorkwa, I went to meet Mr. K.T Hammond and I should come clean, the man has truly worked.
He has increased a great deal of help from the individuals who considers him the “Showboy” I was truly dazzled and I need to accept this open door to sound an expression of alert to Chairman Wontumi to avoid the way. He should quit affecting individuals with cash against K. T Hammond. Executive Wontumi is my companion yet I won’t bolster him on this. What he is doing isn’t right”, he noted.
The National Executive Council (NEC) of the New Patriotic Party earlier this week, released a list of all certified parliamentary aspirants qualified to contest in the Primaries.
