Tragedy struck on the Berekum-Sunyani road early Saturday morning when a head-on collision between an O.A. bus and a motorcycle claimed the lives of two individuals.
The accident occurred near Amanfoso, involving an O.A. bus with the registration number GT 5768-18 and a motorcycle with the registration number M-22-BA-2109.
According to Kofi Yeboah, an eyewitness who was driving a Toyota Rav4 at the time, the O.A. bus was en route from Accra to Berekum when it attempted to overtake his vehicle.
During the overtaking maneuver, the bus collided with Yeboah’s car and then crashed head-on into the approaching motorcycle, resulting in the immediate deaths of the two riders.
Bugri Elijah, the Sunyani Manager for O.A. buses, confirmed that some passengers sustained minor injuries in the accident.
While those with minor injuries have been treated and discharged, five others are still receiving medical care. Elijah assured that O.A. Transport Company is covering all medical expenses for the injured passengers.
