Guinness World Record has blocked a blogger on Instagram after being tagged in a video showcasing Adu Safowaah’s attempt at the longest speech marathon by an individual.
The ongoing speech-a-thon, undertaken by Adu Safowaah, caught the attention of the blogger who shared the video on Instagram, presumably in an attempt to draw more attention to the remarkable feat.
Taking to Instagram the user wrote “ #adusafowaahspeechathon 64hours and counting 🔥🔥 And to think @guinessworldrecord blocked me from tagging them is beyond me”.
Ghanaian actress and media personality, Adu Safowaah has officially embarked on her quest to establish a new Guinness World Record for the longest speech marathon by an individual.
Commencing on February 9, 2024, the record attempt will run until February 14, 2024, at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra.
To adhere to the challenge’s guidelines, Adu Safowaa must deliver speeches on diverse topics, each lasting a minimum of five minutes, with no more than a 30-second pause between them.
The speeches are expected to be original, spontaneous, and distinct from one another. Adu Safowaa has chosen to communicate in English, French, and Twi throughout the marathon.
The existing world record for the longest speech marathon is held by Ananta Ram KC, a Nepalese motivational speaker, who spoke for an impressive 90 hours and 2 minutes in Kathmandu from August 27 to 31, 2018.
Aiming to make history as the first Ghanaian to achieve this feat, Adu Safowaa is determined to surpass the current record set by Ananta Ram KC.
Notably, Adu Safowaa joins the ranks of other Ghanaians who have sought to etch their names into the Guinness World Records.
This includes Afua Asantewaa, who sang for an astonishing 105 hours, Chef Failatu Abdul Razak, who cooked continuously for 227 hours, Ace-Liam Nana Sam, who became the youngest artist at the age of 11, and Dela Gomey, who applied lipstick to 7 people in just 30 seconds.
