Founder of Heaven’s Gate Ministries, has backed evangelist Bishop Obinim‘s stance on rejecting 5 and 10 cedi notes as church offerings.
In a recent interview on Hitz FM, Kumchacha echoed Obinim’s sentiments, emphasizing the need for larger offerings due to rising costs and the perceived disrespect of smaller denominations.
Bishop Obinim made headlines with a viral video instructing his congregation to offer no less than 20 cedis during services, deeming smaller amounts disrespectful to God.
Kumchacha supported this stance, citing increased expenses, especially in transportation to church.
He criticized those who comfortably give minimal amounts despite their apparent affluence, labeling such offerings as disgraceful.
“What Bishop Obinim said is true. Prices of goods and services have increased. Even the transportation to church is more than 5 to 10 cedis. Yet during the offertory, you pay 2 cedis, 5, and 10 cedis?,” said Kumchacha.
Kumchacha suggested a minimum acceptable offering of GH¢50, acknowledging that genuine financial constraints exempt individuals from this expectation.
“GH¢50 and above is okay.
“It’s not by force. If you really don’t have money, that is okay. There is no problem with that.
“But you can’t go to church, sit in an air-conditioned auditorium with your iPhone 15 and iPhone 17 and when it’s time for offertory, you drop 5 cedis? That is a disgrace! You should better sit at home,” he said.
The debate over appropriate church offerings continues, with Kumchacha and Obinim leading the charge for larger contributions as a sign of reverence and respect in their ministries.
All so call men of God are not preaching the words of God theirs own are big stomach big cars big mansions forgetting judgement day
Nkwsiasem ara kwa.Thats why i stoppen churching long ago.
Why? Do you provide food for them when they attend church? Are you putting a price tag on the words you preach? I’ll advise people to attend churches where they’ll be more accommodating.
Can we wait until we get a details about it? Because a man of God to be should not put amount on church members.
