Ghana Weightlifting Federation open nominations for congress

The Ghana Weightlifting Federation (GWF) on Monday, August 27, officially opened nominations for the upcoming elective congress, slated for Thursday, September 20.

According to a statement signed by Kenneth Odeng Adade, prospective candidates who are interested in the Presidency, Vice-President, Secretary General, Treasurer, Deputy Treasurer and the board member positions, have up to September 7, to submit their forms.

It said nomination forms are expected to be endorsed by a board member or a club member and submitted to the secretariat not later than Wednesday, September 12, 2018.

Weightlifting has been one of the fastest growing sports under the tenure of Mr Ben Nunoo Mensah, who earlier indicated his decision not to contest for the Presidency for the third time running.
