São Tomé and Príncipe, a Central African country, will utilize Ghana’s port and harbor as its primary entry point for federal distribution following the renewal of a 7-year air service management agreement between the two nations.
São Tomé’s Minister of Infrastructure, Natural Resources, and Environment, Mr. Adelino Afonso Fernandes Rosa Cardoso, highlighted Ghana’s strategic location for facilitating the export and import of goods and services.
He praised Ghana’s ports for meeting international standards and facilitating trade between the two countries. Ghana’s Minister of Transport, Mr. Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, pledged continued support to São Tomé and Príncipe and emphasized the modern infrastructure of Ghana’s Takoradi and Tema ports, which will serve both nations.
This partnership aims to benefit both countries and has a history dating back over two decades, when Ghana managed São Tomé’s air traffic services to enhance safety over the Atlantic Ocean.
