At the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, an altercation between Dancehall artists Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy led to a significant incident that now prevents them from performing at the same venue simultaneously.

Following this confrontation, the Ghana Police Service mandated both artists to sign a bond restricting their joint performances at events.

Entertainment pundit and media personality Ola Michael highlighted the situation, stating, “There’s a bond between Shatta, Stonebwoy, and the police that stops them from performing together at the same time and place. The police’s silence on this matter is causing confusion for event organizers, which isn’t fair. They should disclose it.”

After the chaotic events of May 18 at the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale faced legal repercussions.

Regarding the incident at the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards:

The awards ceremony became controversial when Stonebwoy was declared Reggae Dancehall Artiste of the Year. Shatta Wale and his entourage stormed the stage, leading Stonebwoy to brandish a gun.

Security responded with pepper spray, resulting in a commotion that forced the evacuation of VIP guests and a temporary halt to the event, with many attendees leaving the venue.

It is noteworthy that Stonebwoy had been winning the Reggae Dancehall Artiste of the Year award for five consecutive years.
