Ghana Football Association (GFA) faces strong competition to secure the services of Belgian coach Tom Saintfiet.
With the need to replace Chris Hughton, Ghana is considering Saintfiet, who is also being pursued by Cameroon, Algeria, and Tunisia.
Ghana would have to compete with these football powerhouses to secure Saintfiet’s appointment as their manager.
The 50-year-old coach brings extensive experience in African football, having managed six countries since his first coaching role on the continent in 2008.
Saintfiet has previously managed Malawi, Namibia, Ethiopia, Togo, Zimbabwe, and The Gambia.
In addition to national teams, he has also coached South African side Free State Stars and Tanzanian giants Young Africans.
His notable success with The Gambia, including qualifying for their first AFCON in 2021 and achieving their best finish by reaching the quarterfinals, has garnered interest from top countries in Africa.
After stepping down from his role in 2023 following the group stage exit at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Saintfiet remains a sought-after coach in the African football landscape.
