Former IGP dead

Former Inspector-General of Police (IGP) J.Y.A Kwofie, aged over 90, has passed away.

According to Adom News sources, Mr. Kwofie died in the afternoon of Thursday, May 2, 2024, after battling illness for several years, including dementia.

He served as IGP from January 1, 1990, to September 30, 1996.

His successor, Peter Tenganabang Nanfuri, who passed away in February 2023, was the Paramount Chief of the Jirapa Traditional Area with the title Naa Ansoleh Ganaa II.
