Bernard Mornah has successfully clinched the position of flagbearer for the People’s National Convention (PNC) in a pivotal moment for the party.
The announcement was made by Electoral Commission representatives on September 7, 2024, at the UDS Guest House in Accra.
During the party’s congress, held to elect new national executives ahead of the December general elections, Mornah dominated the race with 1,138 votes. His rival, David Apasera, managed to secure 216 votes.
In his victory address, Mornah extended a hand of cooperation to Apasera, emphasizing the importance of collaboration to strengthen the PNC ahead of the general elections.
He underscored the need for unity to elevate the party’s chances of gaining political influence.
Despite an earlier delay caused by an injunction from Apasera’s camp, the congress proceeded smoothly after the legal issue was resolved.
