Francisca Owumi, the first runner-up of the inaugural Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) season in 2006, has passed away.
Her family shared the news on her Instagram with a brief but touching tribute: “A daughter and sister. May her soul rest in peace, Amen.”
Owumi, who gained fame for her vibrant dance performances and engaging personality during the show, succumbed to a short illness.
Following her reality TV appearance, she followed her love for music, releasing two singles, and also worked as a writer for a Ghana-based international magazine.
Owumi competed alongside notable figures such as current BBNaija hosts Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Katung Aduwak, and Gideon Okeke.
