The Roads Ministry has announced that the Flowerpot Interchange Project, a critical infrastructure development aimed at easing traffic congestion in Accra, is now 92% complete.
The project, which is part of broader efforts to enhance transportation networks in the capital, is expected to reach substantial completion by the end of October this year.
The Flowerpot Interchange, located along the Spintex Road, is designed to significantly improve the daily commute for residents and travelers moving between the northern and southern sections of the Accra-Tema Motorway.
The new flyover is set to alleviate the chronic congestion at the Flowerpot Intersection, providing a more efficient route for those traveling from Burma Camp and its surrounding areas to East Legon, and vice versa.
On August 29, 2024, President Akufo-Addo conducted an on-site inspection of the project, accompanied by the Minister for Works and Housing, Francis Asenso-Boakye, and the Minister for Energy, Hon. Mohammed Amin Adam.
During the visit, the President expressed satisfaction with the progress and quality of the work being carried out.
