The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has identified the cause of the fire incident that destroyed wooden structures and their contents at Bantama, near the Methodist Church in Kumasi.
According to the GNFS, a faulty refrigerator plug in one of the affected wooden structures used as a drinking bar sparked the devastating blaze per preliminary investigation.
“Investigators are busy at the fire scene to determine the exact cause of fire,” the Fire Service, however, noted.
On Wednesday morning, fire ravaged 8 wooden structures despite efforts from firefighters from the Komfo Anokye, Metro and Manhyia Fire Stations, who ensured all surrounding sandcrete domestic buildings and their contents were protected from the fire ruins.
