The Agriculture Ministry has officially announced that the 40th edition of Ghana’s National Farmers’ Day will take place on Friday, November 8, 2024.
A press release from the Acting Chief Director, Paul Siameh, revealed that the main event will be held at the Alisa Hotel in North Ridge, Greater Accra Region, starting at 4:00 p.m.
Unlike previous years, the Ministry has opted to skip regional-level celebrations this time. Instead, regions can nominate winners for ten regional award categories, who will then travel to Accra for recognition at the national Awards Night Ceremony.
During the ceremony, Regional Ministers will present awards to the honorees from their regions.
To facilitate participation, the Ministry has instructed that all expenses, including travel, accommodation, and meals for regional award winners, be covered by their respective Regional Coordinating Councils.
Moreover, the presence of Regional Ministers and Regional Directors of Agriculture is expected at the Awards Night Ceremony, with their associated costs also managed by their councils.
The Ministry underscored the significance of the event, highlighting the role of regional representatives in honoring the crucial contributions of Ghanaian farmers to the nation’s development.
