Fans of Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie have expressed their displeasure towards gospel artist Joe Mettle after he disclosed the reason behind refusing a request from Sarkodie to collaborate on a song.
Sarkodie, known for his reserved demeanor and at times perceived as arrogant, reportedly approached Mettle for a feature, only to be turned down by the ‘Bo Noo Ni’ hitmaker.
Interestingly, Sarkodie is typically the one declining collaboration requests from other artists!
During an interview with Andy Dosty, Joe Mettle explained that he declined Sarkodie’s request because he has made a personal decision not to collaborate with secular artists.
However, some of Sarkodie’s fans criticized Mettle for what they viewed as a narrow interpretation of Christianity.
“Our level Christianity is different from that of someone abroad, Tasha Cobbs will future Nicky and will have no problem. When u come to Africa everything about us is different,” one netizen wrote.
