A family in Ashaiman is raising concerns and demanding clarity from a local mortuary amid claims that the mortuary has lost track of their deceased relative’s body.

The family alleges that despite completing all required paperwork and arrangements for the release of the corpse, they have been unable to locate it.

Representing the family, Pastor Ebenezer Nartey expressed frustration with the management of the mortuary.

He stated that they had entrusted the body to the mortuary with the understanding that it would be released to them on April 20, 2024, for transportation to Kakasuna No. 1.

However, the mortuary’s management has reportedly not responded to their requests.

“We lost one of our church members, so we deposited the body here at Trinity Mortuary, and the necessary arrangements were made for us to collect the body today. Yesterday, the family sent a delegation to the Trinity office, informing them to prepare our body for collection today to be conveyed from here to Kakasuna No. 1,” Pastor Nartey explained.

“Despite our arrival at 3:00 PM, we have been unable to locate our body. The deceased is a woman named Mary Animley. The lack of communication and reception from the mortuary’s officers is concerning. It’s now past 6 PM, and we urgently need our body today. All necessary documentation and agreements between Trinity and the family have been completed,” he added.

The family’s distress highlights the need for prompt and transparent communication from mortuaries in such sensitive matters.
