Ex-Ejisu Juaben MCE Yamoah Ponkoh passes away

Former Chief Executive of the Ejisu Juaben Municipal Assembly, Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh, during John Mahama’s tenure, has sadly passed away.

The news of his death emerged on the afternoon of Sunday, October 6. While the exact cause is yet to be confirmed, sources close to the situation report that he had been battling an illness for several weeks.

A prominent figure in the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ponkoh held several key roles throughout his political journey.

According to Myjoyonline, he was admitted to Living Waters Hospital in Kumasi last week but, after being discharged, passed away at home.

The unexpected passing of Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh has plunged many into deep mourning, especially within the National Democratic Congress (NDC), where he was respected for his leadership and commitment to public service.

Following the heartbreaking news, NDC’s National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, conveyed his sincere condolences to the family in a heartfelt Facebook post.

Gyamfi’s message captured the collective sorrow of those who admired Mr. Ponkoh’s significant contributions to both the party and the country.
