The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Manhyia South, Lawyer Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, has asserted that the Ashanti Region is firmly positioned to reject the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 elections.
During a health walk in Manhyia South on September 14, 2024, which featured NPP Vice Presidential candidate Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Baffour Awuah emphasized the unwavering support for the NPP.
“The NDC can spread their flag all over Manhyia South, they can paint Manhyia South with gold. We have not forgotten what the NPP has done for us,” he declared.
The event was attended by key NPP figures, including General Secretary Justin Frimpong Kodua and Maxwell Ofosu Boakye, the Municipal Chief Executive Officer of Suame, along with other regional party officials.
Addressing the gathered supporters, Baffour Awuah praised the NPP’s accomplishments in the constituency, such as the installation of Astro Turfs and the development of the Afia Kobi Library, initiatives led by Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh.
He reported that after visiting about 60% of homes in his constituency, residents have expressed a resolute decision to avoid voting for John Mahama and the NDC.
“I have toured about 60% of homes in the constituency and what they are saying is that they will never vote for John Mahama; not today or tomorrow”, he stated.
“They say they remember what you (Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh) did for them hence they will never vote for Mahama, not today or tomorrow”, he reiterated.
Baffour Awuah also revealed that in the December elections, the people of Manhyia South are expected to vote overwhelmingly for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, showing their gratitude for his choice of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as his running mate.
