We appreciate and love you; Love won! – Davido

Nigerian music sensation Davido has seemingly responded to recent criticisms and rumours surrounding his personal life with a heartfelt message celebrating love, following his wedding on June 25th.

In a post filled with gratitude, Davido emphasized the triumph of love over all challenges.

Expressing deep appreciation to everyone who contributed to making their wedding day special, Davido stated, “Thanks to everyone who made our day magical! We appreciate and love you. Love won!”

Criticism has swirled around Davido, particularly regarding allegations of infidelity and discussions about his partner Chioma’s steadfast support in light of rumored polygamous tendencies.

Despite public scrutiny, Davido remains resolute in celebrating the love and support he has received, especially from those who attended the wedding festivities.

Meanwhile, legal developments have also been a part of Davido’s recent news. The musician has reportedly taken legal action against his former partner Sophia Momodu, seeking custody of their daughter, Imade.

Imade, born in May 2015, is Davido’s first daughter with Sophia Momodu, who is a relative of renowned journalist Dele Momodu.

According to reports by Punch newspaper, Davido’s legal team, including lawyers Olaniyi Arije and Okey Barrah, filed a lawsuit at the Lagos State High Court on April 17, 2024. The suit, marked LD/1587PMC/2024, requests joint custody of nine-year-old Imade and an order allowing unrestricted access to his daughter.

In his legal filing, Davido acknowledged his past relationship with Sophia Momodu and affirmed their agreement to co-parent Imade despite their relationship ending several years ago.
