Nana Fredua-Agyeman Jnr. submits “Wonder” for Grammy nomination review

Ghanaian artist and poet Nana Fredua-Agyeman Jnr. has sent his second album, Wonder, for consideration at the 67th Grammy Awards.

The album, consisting of eleven tracks, includes collaborations with veteran actor David Dontoh, U.K.-based artist T. Monterisi (T./MO), Yaw Stone, and Nana Kwame Osei Sarpong (The Soulman).

The submission window for eligible works was open from July 17, 2024, to August 30, 2024.

Any releases from September 16, 2023, to August 30, 2024, that meet specific requirements are eligible for consideration.

According to the Recording Academy, only accredited media entities and members of the academy (both voting and professional) can submit works for Grammy consideration.

This is the second time Nana Fredua-Agyeman Jnr. has entered an album for Grammy review.

His first album, Ponder, was reviewed for the 65th Grammy Awards in September 2022.

Ponder was among the initial works considered in the newly introduced Spoken Word Poetry Album of the Year category.

Nana Fredua-Agyeman Jnr. is a distinguished writer, spoken word performer, and poet, having secured three awards at the Ghana Association of Writers’ Literary Awards.

In 2023, he set a precedent as the first spoken word artist and poet to win first, second, and third place in the Kofi Anyidoho Spoken Word category.

The nominees for the 67th Grammy Awards will be announced on November 8, 2024.
