My ability to have children with multiple women demonstrate my versatility – Ampaw

Legal practitioner, Maurice Ampaw recently disclosed details about his family life in an interview on The Delay Show. He revealed that he has seven children from multiple relationships, including two sets of twins with different women and three other children with separate partners.

Ampaw shared that following the passing of his wife in February 2021 and his subsequent remarriage in 2022 to Celestina, he felt his twins needed maternal care due to neglect from extended family.

This situation, he explained, influenced his decision to marry Celestina, whom he had known for over seven years and who had been supportive during his visits to Kumasi.

“When my wife died, I realized my children needed motherly love because the extended family had rejected them. I told Celestina that my children (twins) needed a mother, so if she took care of them well, they would bless her with twins. She took care of them, and now she has twins – two girls. So, I have two sets of twins and others,” he said, prompting an exclamation from show host Deloris Frimpong Manso (Delay).

“Oh yes, I have children with different women,” Ampaw proudly stated. “I have children with about three women. I’m versatile and honest with myself. These three others came before Celestina’s twins but after my twins with my late wife. I was having affairs with women when my wife was alive. We had children, and that’s it.”

Despite acknowledging his relationships with various women and the children born from these unions, Ampaw emphasized that his actions were driven by a sense of responsibility rather than recklessness. He asserted that he had good intentions toward each woman with whom he fathered children.

Overall, Ampaw clarified that while his children’s needs accelerated his decision to marry Celestina, his admiration for her and their longstanding friendship played significant roles in their union.

“Celestina was my friend,” he said. “We had been friends for more than seven years, and she had been taking care of me whenever I went to Kumasi. She lived in Offinso. My wife never knew about us. My friend cared for me for seven years; we spent time together, ate together, and made love once in a while.”
