The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has recently extended its partnership with the State Insurance Company (SIC), marking the third consecutive year of their welfare policy renewal.
During the signing ceremony, President Bessa Simons urged union members to enroll in the MUSIGA SIC-Life Insurance scheme to access its benefits. He emphasized the scheme’s importance, highlighting its three-year track record of supporting members nationwide through various challenges.
Bessa Simons stressed the unpredictable nature of accidents and emergencies, underscoring the necessity of protection against such unforeseen events.
“Accidents and emergencies are unannounced and they confront us when we least expect hence the need to be protected against such unfortunate occurrences,” Bessa Simons noted. On his part, the MUSIGA General Secretary, S.K Agyemang expressed his excitement at the signing of the contract. He noted that the scheme is a buffer against unforseen challenges and also encouraged all musicians to sign up to the scheme,” he said.
Echoing his sentiments, MUSIGA General Secretary S.K Agyemang expressed enthusiasm for the renewed agreement, emphasizing its role as a safety net against unexpected difficulties and encouraging all musicians to participate.
The scheme offers several benefits, including a GHC 5,000.00 payout to families of deceased subscribed members, as well as support for permanent disabilities, child welfare, and parental assistance.
Andrew Adu-Asante from SIC-Life’s Corporate Group Business department commended MUSIGA for their proactive initiative, recognizing its potential to significantly benefit union members. Representatives from SIC Life included Andrew Adu Asante, Elliot Botchway, and Alfred Codjoe from the Corporate Group Business Department, along with Mary-Joan Acheampomaa and Ampem Loretta Yamnobiya Anafu from the Group Underwriting Department.
