Renowned gospel artist Edward Akwasi Boateng has voiced his disappointment over MOGmusic‘s failure to honour a financial commitment he made to support him.
Boateng revealed that MOGmusic had pledged financial assistance during a public announcement but did not follow through, even at a recent event where they were both present.
Boateng recounted that he was prominently featured on promotional material for the event in Kumasi, with promises of support from MOGmusic.
However, during the program, MOGmusic neither acknowledged him nor fulfilled the promised assistance.
Despite efforts to reach out, Boateng mentioned that he has not received any communication from MOGmusic since.
Speaking in an interview with Zionfelix, Edward noted that he has not heard from MOGmusic again.
“I was placed on the flyer for the show, indicating that he would support me during the programme but he never did. I went to greet him after the show, but he [MOGmusic] didn’t say anything,” he said.
This disappointment comes amid recent challenges faced by Boateng, including the loss of significant assets due to personal struggles, as highlighted by a viral video showing him selling pen drives and CDs.
However, support has also poured in from various quarters, with Prophet Benard El Benard Nelson–Eshun offering a car and educational scholarships, and contributions from fans and well-wishers totaling GHC60,000.
Boateng, once a prominent figure in Ghanaian gospel music with significant success and financial stability, has faced setbacks in recent years but remains hopeful for better days ahead.
