Retired Commissioner of Police Kofi Boakye marked his 61st birthday with a lavish private celebration at his newly acquired luxurious residence in Accra, showcasing a remarkable display of ceremonial extravagance.
While Kofi Boakye’s birthday falls on April 5, this year he chose to commemorate the occasion on Wednesday, May 1, drawing an elite crowd from various spheres of Ghanaian society.
The event was graced by prominent figures such as Osei Kwame Despite, founder of the Despite Group of Companies, and Dr. Ofori Sarpong, Group Chairman of DGC, among others.
The guest list also included notable personalities like former footballer Sammy Kuffuor, Dr. Christian Kwasi Agyeman, CEO of Taabea Company Limited, Samuel A. Jinapor, Minister for Land and Natural Resources, and Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer of the NDC.
Additionally, actors like Kwaku Manu and media personalities like Dr. Randy Abbey were present, alongside members of the prestigious East Legon Executive Men’s Club.
The celebration was further enhanced by performances from highlife icon Kwabena Kwabena, accompanied by the Police band, captivating the audience with melodious tunes and prompting Kofi Boakye himself to showcase his dance skills on stage.
Known affectionately as “Commander One,” Kofi Boakye retired from the Ghana Police Service on his 60th birthday in 2023, concluding a distinguished career marked by significant contributions to crime-fighting in Ghana, alongside his legal expertise.
