Ghanaian gospel artist Isiah Kwadwo ‘Great’ Ampong was ordained as a reverend minister on Sunday, June 17, 2024, at Divine Word Ministries International in the USA, led by Archbishop Kofi Adonteng Boateng. This ordination honors Ampong’s extensive contribution to spreading the gospel through his music.
Before his ordination, Ampong was instructed to seek forgiveness from God and those he had wronged, specifically addressing his long-standing feud with highlife legend Daddy Lumba. Ampong expressed remorse for any pain caused during their conflict and offered forgiveness for any hurt he endured since their fallout in 2015.
During the ceremony, Archbishop Adonteng Boateng prayed for blessings and the expansion of Ampong’s ministry. He emphasized that God’s grace and power were now upon Ampong, predicting that even his enemies would come to love him and that his music would reach new heights globally. Ampong was then ceremoniously robed in pastoral garments to signify his new role.
Ampong and Daddy Lumba collaborated on the successful album “Hosanna” in 2015, but their relationship deteriorated due to allegations of deceit and greed. As Ampong steps into his new role, he publicly seeks reconciliation and hopes Daddy Lumba can forgive him too.
