I’m still active in the music business – Kwesi Arthur disputes claims of quitting music

Rapper Kwesi Arthur has refuted claims suggesting his intention to leave the music industry following his departure from former management company GroundUp Chale.

During an interview on 3Music TV, the artist acknowledged the challenges of transitioning to independence after parting ways with a system he had been part of for years.

However, Kwesi Arthur emphasised his continuous dedication to music, citing recent releases such as “Pain Interlude,” “Penny,” and “For Life.”

Addressing speculations about quitting, Kwesi Arthur asserted, “If I would have stopped making music, it would have been then, in 2022,” highlighting his perseverance despite the new circumstances.

“When you leave the system everything is brand new for you. Fortunately for me, I still kept pushing…If I would have stopped making music, it would have been then, in 2022,” the rapper said.

He added that “I just put out my first project off my own music company I started in honour of my grandmother. So, for people to think that is weird, how ill I quit?”

Moreover, he defended his recent endeavours, including the launch of his music company dedicated to his grandmother, asserting that his passion and determination remain unwavering.

The rapper’s return to the spotlight follows rumours of disagreements with his former record label, which reportedly led to a brief hiatus and left fans curious about his absence.

Reflecting on the challenges faced during contract renegotiations, Kwesi Arthur stressed the importance of legal guidance when dealing with agreements in the music industry, urging caution and thorough scrutiny before signing.
Having spent time in the US, Kwesi Arthur reassured fans of his comeback and reaffirmed his commitment to his music career, highlighting his role as an inspiration and a source of hope for others in the industry.
