Former Big Brother Naija housemate Doyin has voiced her support for the act of requesting a DNA test from one’s partner, calling it both painful and reasonable.
Her comments come amidst a surge in debates online regarding paternity fraud.
Doyin, sharing her insights on this growing trend, emphasized that men have every right to ask for a DNA test in relationships.
She believes that men should be given the choice to knowingly father a child, regardless of whether the child is biologically theirs or not.
In a message to women, Doyin urged them not to react negatively when asked to verify their child’s paternity.
She stated, “It’s not a bad thing for your partner to request for DNA test. If he wants to take care of a child that isn’t his, let it be his decision to do that intentionally not because he thinks he’s the father.
“The rate of paternity fraud is too high for you to think emotionally if your partner asks for a DNA test. It’s a painful request but it’s understandable.”
Highlighting the prevalence of paternity fraud, Doyin encouraged individuals to approach the topic rationally rather than emotionally.
She acknowledged that while the request for a DNA test may be painful, it is understandable given the circumstances.
