Ghanaian artiste Osei Kwaku Vincent, popularly known as Strongman Burner, has revealed that fellow musician Kwabena Akwaboah Jnr. spent over GH¢170,000 for his wedding venue at the luxurious Kempinski Hotel, excluding catering costs.
Strongman expressed his frustration over social media criticism targeting Akwaboah Jnr.’s wedding attire and other details. In an interview with Pure FM, monitored by GhanaWeb, Strongman condemned the tendency of the public to scrutinize celebrities’ weddings.
“It’s disheartening when you’ve put money into a wedding and then people on social media criticize your outfit. If it were up to me, I’d just sign the legal documents in court and give the money to my wife. For example, at Akwaboah Jnr.’s wedding—he spent a lot of money.
“I was really upset when I saw some negative comments about his wedding on social media. Just for Kempinski, he paid over GH¢170,000 without including food. The negative feedback really bothered me as his close friend,” the rapper commented.
Akwaboah Jnr. married his partner, Theresa, on Friday, May 3, 2024, in a vibrant ceremony. He wore a pristine white kaftan, while his bride dazzled in traditional Kente.
The wedding was graced by notable guests, including broadcaster Oheneyere Gifty Anti and her spouse Nana Ansah Kwao IV, as well as actress Oheneyere Mercy Asiedu and her husband, Nana Agyemang Badu, the chief of Kunsu.
