New Patriotic Party‘s(NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Adentan constituency, Akosua Manu voiced her criticism of a leaked tape from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) implicating the Attorney General in the ongoing ambulance purchase trial.

She compared the hype surrounding the tape to that of a new Ghallywood movie.

However, she found the tape lacking in concrete evidence against Godfred Yeboah Dame, the Attorney General and Minister for Justice.

“They hyped the tape with so much noise on countdown and there was no peace in Ghana’s last couple of days. But I didn’t hear Dame’s voice because it wasn’t audible enough. Later there was another file circulating on social media and there was nothing to show the AG did anything wrong.

“Whether they like it or not but the tape was doctored. It was spliced and they can’t deny it,” she stated in an interview on Accra-based Peace FM.

Manu stated in an interview with Peace FM that despite the initial uproar and its impact on Ghana’s peace, the tape failed to provide substantial proof against Dame.

She also raised doubts about its authenticity, suggesting it may have been altered and edited.

The NDC released the audio recording to support allegations of unethical conduct by the Attorney General in the prosecution of Richard Jakpa and two others in the Ambulance procurement case. Nevertheless, the NPP dismissed the tape as fabricated and manipulated by the NDC.
