Emotional Wontumi couldn’t control himself, broke down in uncontrollable tears at John Kumah’s house

On Saturday, March 9, 2024, prominent members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) paid a visit to the residence of the late Member of Parliament for Ejisu, Dr. John Kumah, to offer their condolences to his family.

A video from the visit depicts the emotional state of the party’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Wontumi.

In the footage, the regional chairman is visibly overcome with emotion, shedding uncontrollable tears and requiring assistance to move as he interacts with the bereaved family.

Dr. John Ampontuah Kumah passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at the age of 45.

Associates of the late Deputy Minister for Finance have indicated that he passed away while en route from Kumasi to Accra for further medical treatment in Germany.

Though the exact cause of the MP’s demise remains uncertain, there have been allegations suggesting that John Kumah may have been poisoned prior to his passing.

According to Captain Smart, the host of Onua FM’s morning show, both the MP and Chairman Wontumi were allegedly poisoned sometime in the latter part of the previous year.
