Renowned Ghanaian songwriter and rapper Martin King Arthur, widely known as Kofi Kinaata, has expressed his gratitude to those who have supported his music career while clarifying that no one discovered him.
Kinaata addressed the common perception among music fans that his rise to stardom was mainly due to being discovered by industry giants like Castro, Samini, and Dr. Pounds.
Speaking to Tony Best on Akoma FM’s Entertainment 360, he explained that he was already making music before meeting these figures.
“The concept of discovery is sometimes overused or overemphasized. To discover someone means to unearth a raw talent and help them realize their potential. That’s what I consider true discovery,” Kinaata stated.
He acknowledged the significant contributions of these personalities to his career but emphasized that his talent and success are his own.
Kinaata recounted, “When Dr. Pounds met me in Takoradi, I had already been selected to participate in a rap competition, which I eventually won. This shows that I was already active in music.”
Currently, Kofi Kinaata is promoting his EP “Kofi oo Kofi.”
