The slippers, part of Osebo’s new fashion line, were brought onstage for auction, ultimately being purchased by the highest bidder, the founder of The Despite Group of Companies, Dr. Osei Kwame Despite.
Before making the purchase, Dr. Despite, among the distinguished guests who unveiled the collection, offered the highest amount. Seated among his peers in the audience, he secured the pair of slippers, which was promptly presented to him onstage.
However, videos capturing this incident surfaced on social media, sparking diverse reactions from netizens.
While some praised Dr. Osei Kwame Despite for supporting a Ghanaian brand, others deemed the act of buying a pair of slippers for such a substantial amount as extravagant.
