Prophet Isaac Appiah, also known as Prophet Azuka, head of Shining Grace Chapel International, recently commented on the public discord between Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and Dormaahene Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II. He believes that this conflict has had a positive impact on the Asante people.
According to Prophet Azuka, Dormaahene’s criticisms have prompted Otumfuo to approach his duties with greater diligence, benefiting the Ashanti populace. The prophet noted that Otumfuo has started removing subchiefs who have failed to perform their duties properly, thereby reinforcing the kingdom’s authority.
In a video posted by Express GH TV on YouTube, Prophet Azuka remarked on the increased dynamism within the Ashanti Kingdom since Otumfuo’s ascension to the throne.
He stated that Dormaahene’s challenges have led Otumfuo to take decisive actions, such as deposing insubordinate subchiefs and resolving illegal land claims. This, he believes, has enhanced the prestige and effectiveness of Ashanti rule.
Prophet Azuka also mentioned that people now prefer to resolve land disputes at the palace, attributing this change to the influence of Dormaahene’s challenges. He praised the Ashanti Kingdom’s royal heritage and noted that the recent challenges have added to its splendor.
Previously, Dormaahene accused Asantehene of worsening the Sampa chieftaincy dispute through his involvement. He argued that Asantehene’s actions were a direct challenge to the legal system and the traditional authority of Bono chiefs. Dormaahene presented these allegations to Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia and his delegation during their visit to the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, asserting that Otumfuo Osei Tutu II was responsible for the ongoing conflict in Sampa.
