Kojo Kinn, the entertainment and media personality, has weighed in on the 2024 3Music Awards, expressing his thoughts on Stonebwoy‘s MVP nomination.
While Kinn acknowledges Stonebwoy’s strong performance this year and his deserving place on the list, he is skeptical about the Reggae/Dancehall artist’s chances of winning the top prize.
In an interview with Prince Benjamin on Accra 100.5 FM’s Entertainment Capital on August 17, Kinn noted, “It makes sense that Stonebwoy is a nominee, but winning is a different story.”
He added, “Stonebwoy has already secured the Artiste of the Year award at the TGMAs, but whether he will replicate that success at the 3Music Awards remains to be seen.”
Kinn drew comparisons between the two major awards shows, suggesting that the 3Music Awards often diverges from the GMAs’ choices.
He recalled the 2021 instances where Diana Hamilton won the top accolade at the GMAs while the 3Music Awards honored KiDi with their MVP award. Kinn hinted that a similar trend might occur this year.
Reflecting on past patterns, Kinn speculated that King Promise, who was recently disappointed at the GMAs where Stonebwoy took home the top prize, might have a better chance at the 3Music Awards.
He predicted that King Promise could potentially secure the Artiste of the Year/Most Valuable Player award at the 3Music Awards in September 2024.
“close examination and review, the public should not be shocked if King Promise receives the Artiste of the Year/Most Valuable Player honour at the 3Music Awards come September 2024.”
The 3Music Awards, organized by 3Music Network under the leadership of Madam Rashidatu Yamine Abdulai, has seen shifts in its winner selections, sometimes contrasting with the GMAs’ outcomes.
