Popular reality TV personality and actress, Venita, has shared her perspective on marriage, discouraging women from tying the knot before the age of 28.
The 37-year-old, who is a divorcee and a mother of two, offered this advice during a candid interview with her colleague, Tacha, on Cool FM’s The Big Friday Show.
Venita urged young women to make the most of their youth and cautioned against rushing into marriage solely based on love.
She emphasised that women should explore various aspects of life and gain diverse experiences before committing to the institution of marriage.
During the interview, Venita stated, “Don’t marry young! Don’t go and do ‘I’m doing high school sweetheart, we die here.’ Just be young! Be young, enjoy your life. When you’re tired, get married.”
She expressed her reluctance to permit her daughters to marry before the age of 28, believing that they need time to discover themselves and understand what they truly want in life.
Venita acknowledged that some individuals might be mature at a younger age but emphasised the importance of trying different things and gaining diverse experiences before making a lifelong commitment.
Drawing from her own experiences, she highlighted the potential challenges that can arise in a marriage and the need for individuals to have space when necessary.
In an unconventional twist, Venita shared her vision of an ideal marriage, envisioning separate houses for herself and her husband connected by magnificent corridors.
This perspective reflects her belief in the importance of maintaining individual spaces within a marital relationship.
As Venita continues to navigate life post-divorce, she encourages young women to prioritize self-discovery and exploration before settling down, advocating for a more thoughtful approach to marriage.
