On November 1, 2023, Commander David Benedict Quayson, the Director of Navy Religious Affairs, successfully launched four books at Burma Hall.
The books unveiled include “The Ghana Armed Forces Spousal Handbook,” “Marriage In God’s Way,” “Institutional Chaplaincy In Africa,” and “Skills Training Handbook.”
Representing the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Vice Admiral Seth Amoama, who served as the Guest of Honour, Major General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, the Chief of the Army Staff, stated that the book launch was well-timed as it addresses contemporary issues relevant to the Armed Forces and the lives of its personnel.
He noted that “Institutional Chaplaincy in Africa” delves deeply into the topic of military chaplaincy from an African perspective, contributing to the existing body of literature on chaplaincy and offering a fundamental understanding of military chaplaincy.
The event was chaired by Right Reverend Professor Joseph Manasseh Yaakwa Adusa Ayison, the Bishop of the Northern Accra Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana.
Other notable figures in attendance included Rear Admiral Issah Adam Yakubu, the Chief of the Naval Staff, Ambassador Major General Francis Adu Amanfoh (Retired), Special Advisor to the President for the Accra Initiative, Major General Nicholas Peter Andoh, the Chief of Staff at the General Headquarters, retired Generals, Bishops of the Methodist Church Ghana, and senior officers from the Ghana Armed Forces.
