Host of Adom TV’s Fire-for-Fire, Patrick Osei-Agyemang, popularly known as Countryman Songo, is gearing up to lead a significant demonstration against the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

Scheduled for Valentine’s Day on February 14, the protest aims to express dissatisfaction with the performance of the Kurt Okraku-led administration.

This decision stems from the disappointing exit of the Black Stars from the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Ivory Coast.

Despite high hopes of ending the country’s 42-year trophy drought, the team exited the group phase with just two points.

The Black Stars faced draws against Egypt and Mozambique, along with a defeat to Cape Verde in their opening match. This early departure marks the first consecutive group-phase exit for the team in AFCON history.

Award-winning broadcaster Osei-Agyemang squarely places the blame on the GFA, criticising them for spending taxpayer money without producing satisfactory results.

His call for accountability, especially regarding the AFCON budget, has prompted him to lead the demonstration.

Adding to the fallout from the team’s poor performance, head coach Chris Hughton has been sacked.

The GFA has unveiled a roadmap for the appointment of a new coach in the aftermath of the 34th edition of the AFCON.
