Renowned broadcast journalist and musician, Abubakar Ahmed publicly known as Blakk Rasta, supports Nana Kwame Bediako’s presidential aspirations, citing the compelling nature of the New Force message that resonates with the challenges faced by ordinary Ghanaians.
During his live show on 3FM, the “Kuchoko” hitmaker emphasises the importance of concentrating on the message rather than questioning the roots of Bediako’s wealth.
“Of course this is the man who said we shouldn’t care about his money but rather what he is coming to do. Like I said there are many people who will concentrate on the messenger rather than the message, please let us concentrate on the message,” Blakk Rasta stated.
Blakk Rasta urged the public to unite in building the nation and avoid distractions that focus on the messenger rather than the transformative message.
“Let’s build our nation, let’s not kill it.”
Blakk Rasta’s “Kuchoko” musical style, is a fusion of reggae with African rhythms, features conscious lyrics addressing themes such as love, equal rights, justice, blackness, rasta, and spiritual love.
This innovative sound emerged after extensive research to create a unique blend that incorporates indigenous African instruments like the xylophone, talking drum (dondo), kette, flute, kologo, kora, along with animal and jungle sounds and elements from local markets.
