Police are allegedly searching for Reynold Ofori Koranteng, a 35-year-old cold store manager, accused of stealing GHC 98,000 from his employer.
The incident took place at a cold store in Mpraeso, Kwahu, in Ghana’s Eastern Region.
According to a social media post by X user @Dek360Ghana, Koranteng allegedly took the weekend’s sales meant for bank deposit on Monday morning.
The attached police statement from Kwafo Andrews Obiri, the store’s manager, detailed how the theft was discovered.
The statement read, “Kwafo Andrews Obiri of HNo unknown Mpraeso on phone No. 0243886575, the Manager, came to the charge office and reported that today 03/06/2024 at about 5:40 am, he went to the said company and detected that an amount of GHC 97,826.00 was missing from his office. He highly suspects one Ofori Koranteng Reynolds, one of his workers, and as such needed police action. Information received indicates that the said suspect is planning to travel overseas.”
The police are investigating the case and are urging anyone with information about Koranteng’s whereabouts to come forward.
