Renowned Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, widely recognized as Davido, has shared a heartfelt account of his pursuit of love with his wife, Chioma Rowland, revealing that she initially rejected his romantic advances.
In a chat with vlogger Tayo Aina, Davido said he first met Chioma while they were both studying at Babcock University in Osun State.
He said it was love at first sight, adding that immediately he set his eyes on her, he asked one of his aides to call her for him but Chioma declined.
He said, “I was in a Prado, and I looked behind and I saw this girl walking. Just there with her bag, it was Chioma.
“I told Lati omo, I like that girl, go and call that girl for me. He called her but she did not answer me at the time.”
The 30 Billion Gang head honcho, however, said Chioma later came to Lagos and they linked up.
The couple got married shortly after the death of their son, Ifeanyi who drowned in a swimming pool at the singer’s Banana Island mansion last year.
