An elderly man, believed to be in his seventies, was discovered dead while seated in a gutter at Kasoa-Opeikuma Junction in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.
According to gathered information, the man, who was not known to be a resident of the area, was spotted roaming the streets on Sunday, April 28.
Residents who interacted with him were told that he was searching for someone but had become disoriented and lost.
Due to his age, he caused a traffic disruption on Sunday night while attempting to cross the Opeikuma road, but a compassionate passerby assisted him.
The following Monday, April 29, residents were shocked to find the man seated in the gutter, partially unclothed and lifeless.
Authorities were alerted, and the police arrived at the scene to transport the body to the Winneba Special and Trauma Hospital Mortuary for autopsy and preservation.
Efforts are currently underway by the police and local residents to locate the deceased’s family, as he was not a known resident of the area.
