Batman, also known as ‘Abodie’, a well-known bodybuilder allegedly involved in the lynching of Wyllbee, has been reported dead.
The young man from Tanoso, where Wyllbee was killed, had his funeral banner circulated online, drawing various reactions on social media.
Following the lynching incident, Batman reportedly fled from Tanoso to Anyinam as the police arrested suspects.
Family sources revealed that Batman had been battling diabetes for nearly three years, and his relocation hindered his access to proper medical care, ultimately leading to his death.
In the meantime, the case involving Wyllbee and the primary suspect, Nana Yaa, has been postponed to August 11, 2024.
Background:
Wyllbee was killed in Abuakwa-Tanoso, Ashanti Region, while staying overnight at Nana Yaa Nyarko’s residence, a property owned by her husband’s family, who were unaware of Wyllbee’s presence.
On July 5, 2024, Wyllbee was confronted by residents after being seen urinating in the compound.
He claimed to be visiting Nana Yaa, but she denied knowing him, allegedly to protect her marriage from her in-laws.
This denial fueled suspicions and theft accusations among the neighbors, leading to Wyllbee’s lynching. His phone was reportedly destroyed with a stone during the incident.
Another Perspective:
Unverified reports suggested Wyllbee was accused of attempting to break into Nana Yaa’s room with a stone, prompting the neighbors’ intervention and the subsequent tragedy.
The stone used in the alleged break-in was recovered at the scene and is being used as evidence.
Contrary to claims by Wyllbee’s mother that his belongings were found in Nana Yaa’s room, sources indicated the items were discovered elsewhere on the property.
