The Vice President and NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has extended a donation of GH¢200,000 to support the victims of the Kumasi Kejetia market fire.
The devastating fire, which erupted on March 15, 2023, impacted around 50 shops, leaving 33 completely destroyed.

During his visit to the market on March 20, 2023, Dr. Bawumia assured the victims of government assistance to help them restart their businesses. However, this promise had remained unfulfilled until now.
As part of his campaign tour in the Ashanti region, Dr. Bawumia handed over the GH¢200,000 donation to the affected traders on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the party, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Wontumi, announced the donation.
