The founder of the Movement for Change, Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen has raised doubts about Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia‘s ability to introduce innovative solutions for the nation’s economic challenges.

In a forthcoming interview on TV3, Kyerematen asserted, “Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is exhausted. There is nothing new he can do, and that is a fact,” emphasizing concerns about Bawumia’s perceived lack of fresh ideas to rejuvenate the struggling economy.

Having departed from the New Patriotic Party in September 2023 to establish the Movement for Change, Kyerematen cautioned Ghanaians against placing trust in Vice President Bawumia’s assurances.

He argued that Bawumia lacks the capability to instigate significant economic changes and challenged the distinction between the roles of Vice Presidency and Presidency, referring to them as a “combined ticket.”

Questioning Bawumia’s claim of independence and vision after winning the New Patriotic Party (NPP)  flagbearership race on November 4, 2023, Kyerematen contended that if Bawumia couldn’t propose transformative ideas during nearly eight years in government, his potential presidency would likely yield the same outcome for Ghana’s economic prospects.

Alan Kyerematen asserts that he is the right individual to be given the mandate because he has fresh ideas to be introduced that will change the economy for the better.
