A member of the communication team for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Chris Doughan has strongly criticized Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, dismissing his promises and asserting that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flag bearer has lost credibility.
Bawumia, who now leads the NPP, has vowed to bring about significant changes if elected in 2025, including a reduction in the number of ministers and a commitment to combat corruption.
However, Doughan contends that Bawumia’s recent pledges are merely a ploy to manipulate public opinion.
Doughan accused Bawumia of consistently making false promises to Ghanaians, asserting that the Vice President’s track record does not inspire trust.
He argued that despite Bawumia’s claims of economic prowess, the country has faced hardship under the Akufo-Addo government, particularly with rising living costs and escalating electricity prices.
Calling on Ghanaians to be cautious, Doughan urged voters to reject Bawumia’s new assurances and focus on supporting the NDC’s flag bearer, former president John Mahama.
Doughan praised Mahama for his honesty in the previous term and emphasised the need to elect a leader who can navigate the country away from what he described as the challenges posed by the current NPP leadership.
Speaking on Inside Politics on TV XYZ, Doughan declared, “John Mahama did a lot for Ghana with little resources unlike Bawumia and his Boss, Akufo-Addo. We the members of the NDC will jealously support John Mahama to win power and save this country from the ditch the NPP leadership has put us.”
